Pan Tilt Zoom (PTZ) Security Cameras

PTZ Security Cameras
Security Systems With PTZ Technology

Pan, Tilt, Zoom, commonly referred to as PTZ, is a camera feature involving your camera's ability to move its lens and refocus. Most PTZ cameras can rotate their lens along three axis for an ineradicable range of movement and camera coverage. There are of course always a few blind spots imposed by the mounting hardware and the cameras own housing, but these are very minimal. The primary advantage of a PTZ camera is of course the ability, through the software on the actual Network Video Recorder, or the software on the remote viewing app, to rotate your camera side-to-side or up and down while also zooming in and out in live time, giving you unprecedented level of control of your cameras field of view and viewing angle. With such a technology one camera can be used to watch a large area and bring distant objects easily into range with a crystal clear image.

Why PTZ?

A security camera solution for businesses of all sizes

A PTZ Camera gives your business the power to monitor your area in the exact way you see fit. Monitoring a large area from a single point? A PTZ Camera lets you survey different parts of a space from different angles and zoom in on certain things to get a closer look. Another benefit of a PTZ Camera is the freedom it offers — giving you precise control from anywhere with remote control and viewing capabilities. View even the largest spaces effortlessly with a PTZ.

Professional Installation

The knowledge you need. The service you trust.

PTZ Cameras have a more complex set up process than most standard security cameras and require an experienced professional installation to get the job done right. Camera Security Now offers highly-skilled camera techs ready to install your PTZ system. Improper installation may lead to broken parts, or even a sallow or unresponsive display. Don’t let the installation process lessen the benefits of your new PTZ system, contact Camera Security now today.

What makes a PTZ different?

The true power of a PTZ Camera lies in the functionality and versatility given to the user through the PTZ Control Panel. With a Control Panel, the camera can be remotely panned from side-to-side, tilted up and down and zoomed in or out, depending on the depth of the area being viewed. An indoor or outdoor PTZ camera can have its scope of view modified from anywhere, anytime, meaning you have full control over your camera security system. Frequently Asked Questions For Pan-Tilt-Zoom Cameras

Can a PTZ camera be used indoors?

No, most PTZ cameras are too big to have any practical use inside of a building. Most PTZ cameras are designed for outdoor use where they can be placed up high to let their high optical zoom and pan-tilt-zoom capabilities take full effect. A PTZ camera indoors would be wasting its potential as you wouldn't need such features just to watch over a small room.

If I need my PTZ camera to move do I have to manually control it?

If your PTZ camera needs to move or rotate to look in a different direction you can control it manually using remote access and aim it where you want to. However, PTZ cameras come with software that allows you to tell the camera where to look and when, you could make it constantly pan over an area, you can set it to check a certain area at a certain time, or you can even pair it with other cameras to have it track and detect objects outside of the camera's field of view.

Will the camera footage be high quality even when zoomed in?

Your PTZ camera footage, compared to other cameras, will still retain quality even when zoomed in. However, the farther you zoom in the less quality your footage will have. As with all video from any camera the farther you zoom in the less quality it will have. Although compared to other cameras with zoom functions a PTZ camera will retain its video quality for longer when you zoom in on an area or object.
