Bring discipline and accountability to your plant and help sustain 5S with security cameras.
Ensure the 5S phases are being followed by using video footage to enforce expectations and train
newcomers to the process.
Safety Reviews
How many workplace accidents could be avoided if everyone acted as if every day were a safety review? A CCTV system will give you the tools to audit your operations more effectively, to ensure that the proper safety procedures are always being followed, and not just on safety review day. On a related note, security cameras also excel at busting false workers' compensation claims.
Access to Sensitive Areas
Are lockout tagout procedures always being followed? Who is going in your server room, and how often? Is high value inventory being locked up properly? All sensitive areas of your mill should be monitored with a camera.
Frequently Asked Questions For Steel Mill Security Systems
Will 720p be enough to watch over my entire factory floor?
If your steel mill is using 720p security cameras, we would recommend an upgrade! Our most affordable security cameras start at 1080p/2MP, which is about double the resolution of a 720p camera. We offer security cameras that go all the way up to 4K/8MP. The higher the resolution a security camera has the more detail it can capture and the larger the area one camera can cover.
Do different security camera resolutions take up more video storage space?
Yes. Both video resolution and frame rate (the number of images recorded per second) impact video file size. Other factors include the video codec, or compression algorathim, with H.264 being the older standard and H.265 being it's replacement. Let us know your storage requirements, expressed in a number of days you wish to save your video, and we will be happy to recommend appropriate recording equipment for your steel mill.
Would the security camera company I bought from have access to my footage?
Recordings are stored directly on your Network Video Recorder located onisite at your steel mill. The video and the equipment belong soley to you, with no monthly fees. Some security companies do retain access to your security cameras for service, and even force you to pay a monthly fee for a maintenance plan. At Camera Security Now, we will never force a maintenance plan on our customers or access their cameras without written permission.
